black and wilting

hi. i tried doing a search for this but couldn't find anything.
i thought my dend was doing just fine. a few days ago it dropped it's last leaf which from what i understand is normal. but i noticed last night that stem at that top has shriveled some and is getting black spots. i also noticed some black areas on another stem. i ended up trimming the mushy black tip. i don't know if i should've done that or not.

what's going on? any suggestions?

This sounds like rot - maybe systemic. Can you post a picture?

awe, i don't want to hear that
i can take a picture, but not till tonight when i get home from work. i won't be able to post it till tomorrow.
i don't think i was overwatering. there are plenty holes in the pot. and it's in new potting medium as of 2 months ago.

It does sound like rot. When you are able, post a photo. Hopefully it can be saved.

It looks like normal aging to me.

Do you see any new growths emerging from the base of the plant?

i don't see any new growths. i will just keep taking care of it the way i have been and hope for the best.
