Cymbidium eburneum culture

Have just acquired 1 off these , has anyone got any experience of growing it ?

That's a nice one, uncasteeb--almost pure white, with just a shade of yellow in the throat. They should do well under standard cymbidium culture: bright light and watering as for standard catts, meaning they should get a definite, short dry spell between waterings. To bloom it properly, you'll need to give it temperatures about 10 degrees above freezing for several weeks in the winter, so it might be touchy to bloom if you keep it indoors year around. Thanks for the info Louis , not sure of the size yet , it supposed to be near blooming size which doesn,t mean a lot.
I have an East facing bedroom which isn,t heated & this is where i was going to keep the plant if it needs a cool period , it,s the same place my Den Kingianum spends it,s nights.
If the plant isn,t particularly big i,ll just put it into the growroom & forget about trying to bloom it this season.

Well plant is a bit larger than i thought & it,s in spike .
Plant is about 20" tall with a 24" LS.
Since it,s in spike i,m going to keep night temps around 55f(spare room)
& days about 75f in the growroom.Does this seem OK ?

That should work out perfectly! The cooler temps are needed to initiate spike, but if it's already there...... Definitely post when it blooms.

Well that sheath rotted.
Now i have what appears to be 1 large sheath & 3 more small 1,s .
I,ll just link the piccie as it,s fairly large.

Are you certain that those are sheaths and not new growths? I dont have any particular experience with that plant, but the location suggests new growth to me...

Quite possibly new growths but i can,t find a lot of detail about it,s culture.
They look exactly the same as the big sheath though.

Whichever they are, obviously one happy Eburny.. four things happening at once!!! Good growing Steve. oh, and let us know how this turns out...
