Saturday was a fun day in south west Iowa. The Towns of Kimbalton and Elk Horn were celebrating their Danish/Scandinavian ancestry with a Tivoli Fest. There were tours of Bedstamor's house (grandmother's house), a quilt contest, all the Abelskivver you could eat (I swear, I only had 6...at a time). Here are a few pictures (many starring my dad, Carl Rasmussen) of Grandmothers house, the Danish museum, the viking house and ship, the danish windmill that was transported from Denmark to Iowa in the 1960-70's, and a few photos of the gently rolling hills and the skys of an Iowa day.
