I think we really need a forum for "it was in bloom but...."

My landscaper showed up at my door today with another orchid plant. He said it was the same as the others he brought before, but I just pulled the tag, and it's different. This one is labeled Red-Yellow-Art Shade

Blc. Oconee 'Mendenhall' AM/AOS X Blc. Goldenzelle 'Lemon Chiffon' AM/AOS. I had never seen anything but a photo of the bloom until today. The problem. On his way up here, he accidentally broke off the amazing flower. So now, I don't know whether to hug him, or kill him!!

I'm going to just stare at the flower until it gives up the ghost. It's just magnificent though, and has some scent I can't quite identify.

I just sniffed again. Seems to have a very faint rose like scent, but my nose never worked right anyhow!!

I cant help with the ID but I can say I think she is absulutely gorgeous, the colourings are lovely and go together so well, how come any colour combination in flowers work but if I went out wearing cerise trousers and a bright yellow top people would think I had flipped my wig LOL

I hope that you can get a positive ID for this beauty but if not I hope you enjoy it just the same. Thank you for sharing it with us.

p.s I am so sorry the flower got broken off that is such a shame but at least you still get to enjoy it for a while.

it is paler than the Blc Candelario Garcia I see searching but that could be a difference in lighting. Hope it blooms again for you soon.
