RVO Website Update

Hi folks. I have just about completed a major re-design of the River Valley Orchidworks website. If you have not done so, take a peek. Click on 'Orchid Care', 'links' and 'Nursery' at the top of the page. I wanted to update the care pages and make them more accessible and also, get rid of the old, bad code we had with javascript and popup windows. Everything should be fluid now and easy to see without navigating popups. lol. It should also fit your screen without having to scroll!

Take a look around and let me know if I missed something. I have redirected the old links since all of the new pages have different addresses, so even if you go to the old address, your browser should be redirected to the new, updated page.

I still have some work to do. The weather page has not been updated yet. That one will take some time, but I will start on it soon.

Great job as always Bruce. I don't know where you get the time to hold down a job and yet still keep up with updating the site.

Carrie beat me to the punch here (cuz she's five hours ahead of east coast time), but please folks!! Bruce would never ask you himself, but we get so much from this site, and a donation or subscription is so inexpensive. My subscription expires later this month, and I've made a mental note to increase my level. I could never even begin to repay Bruce and all of you for the great information and friendship I receive daily on this site.

Just wanted to add that this afternoon I finally got the mobile part of the RVO site up and working. I was pleasantly surprised at how fast it loaded. The weather page is not part of the mobile site yet as that is still the same as it has been for awhile now, but all the rest is working. (Weather pages are still on the to-do list...)

If you have a mobile device that accesses the internet, you can now view not only our community, but also the rest of the RVO website. The script that I am using detects if you are using a mobile device or if you access it through a regular browser and automatically redirects you to the proper place. The mobile site has the same content, just not as much styling, no header image, etc.. so that it loads fast and and is light-weight to keep from costing much to access. I hope it helps our mobile users!
