oncidium incurvum

I have 5 one foot long spikes on my oncid incurvum for 2 months now that seem to be dried before any buds appeared. What can the problem be? Is is lack of more humidity??? Thanks

Hey Bill it very possibly could be low humidity or a number of other things. Please post a photo of the problem orchid. This way we can give you a better idea of what's wrong with your baby.

Yes, let us see the leaves, p-bulbs, and the spikes as they are in a photo to give you some suggestions.

I would be interested as well mine put out three spikes one flowered but the other two stopped at two feet then nothing,no buds or anything.

Bill, Do you have the photos loaded into your computer? I keep my photos in folders in MY Documents, so they are easy to find. Down below th quick reply box are the post quick reply button and the Go Advanced button. Click the go Advanced button, type your message/question in the message box that pops up, then scroll down below to a bar labeled 'Manage attachments'. Click that, it will bring up a box that says browse. clicking on browse should bring up your computer's folders. in my case, I browse for My Documents, find the folder I have pictures in and click on it to open, then click on the photo I want to load on Orchidtalk. You can select up to 4 photos, then click on the box that reads 'upload'. You only need to use 'upload file from a URL' if you have your pictures on flicker or one of the online photo album sites.

thanks for the info...very clearly explained....now it seems the pic is too large (1536X2048) It should be 700 x 700 How do you resize the picture? Trying to use Shrink Pictures but no luck thank you

Bill, When you first log in to Orchidtalk, on the first page, befor you click on 'New posts' or 'Enter the Orchidtalk Orchid Forums', look at the left side of the page. There is a section called Featured discussions. Look in that box for the article Orchidtalk forum help- Posting Photos. In the photo posting article is a link to a phot resizing program called image resizer for windows. If you have Vista on your computer, there is an image resizer downloader for that. I use Adobe Photoshop to resize my pics.
