Hi,
Couple of the wires used to hook-up my vanda basket is rusting and the roots of the plant are touching it. Is it OK to leave them as it is or should I look at changing the metal wire holding the Vanda basket?
Satish..

I would suggest, that if your changing of the wire is going to hurt the roots (which I am assuming will), then better leave them as they are. But if they are just slightly touching the wire and are not clinging stead fast to the wire, then replace the wire.
Oh, forgot to mention, you can either used galvanized wire or wires with rubber/plastic coatings (electrical wires) available at hardware stores for future use.
thanks, Amey. the only problem seems to be that the place where the roots touch the wire, the root turns dark. hope it does not affect the plant.
