brought my orchids inside for the winter and found some surprises

like 3 plants with spikes! My Phal that bloomed last year has a little bit of a spike (pretty sure) and a Onc Dancing Lady has been in spike for a month or so, and my mini Onc (that's all the label says) has 2 spikes at the moment. Please check out my pics and let me know if my phal has a spike or root.

thanks for the nice replies. The funny thing about this is that I really didn't take good care of them this summer. They probably should have been watered more often. I brought them in when I woke up and saw it was 35 deg F outside. Maybe having the cool nights helped them spike?? I hope it won't be too much longer before the first one blooms.

That is often the case. As far as blooming anytime soon .... your phal, at least, has quite a ways to go but that just means you'll get to have winter blooms.

Hi Allison! That is great news. I look forward to seeing photos of the blooms. And 35 degree weather for a night won't hurt them. Extended time at that temp would not be good though. Don't ever let them freeze

yeah, they all seem to be at different stages....the oncidium should bloom first, then the mini onc, then the phal in the winter. I might have blooms till april!
