Catt. Sheath Turning Brown ?

I have a Catt. Lc.Casitas Spring Linden Am/Aos that I've own for 1 1/2 years.I did a search and found out this plant is very temperature tolerant.I have yet to see the blooms? I'm growing this plant outdoors on my front porch.The porch faces east.The morning sun is filtered through a large oak tree.This plant does get direct full sun for about 2 - 2 1/2 hours a day.I don't know what I can do to see this plant bloom.This also happen last summer also.As you can see the one sheath is brown and dry.I did remove two other dried out ones last week.There is still one green sheath and three more new growths coming up.I thank you for your replies. Posting to subscribe for personal interest. I must say, your roots sure do look healthy... My catts all do this, perhaps it is a normal occurrence?

That looks pretty healthy to me...I don't grow Catts but it looks like you are on the right track.

Rich please do not remove the brown sheaths. Some catts bloom from mature brown sheaths. My Blc. Lucky strike and Blc. Alma Kee 'Tipmalee' bloom from brown sheaths. Just be patient.

I would leave it alone as suggested and see what happens. The plant looks healthy.

Question: What is the white stuff at the junction of the leaf and the p-bulb? Hard to tell in the photo, but I hope it is not scale. I am probably being overly nervous, but I have lost so many of my old cattleyas to that horrible pest.

BD beat me to it...I saw it right away. I get that junk on my plants alot and it will definitely stop them from blooming.
