    Default Can anyone identify this orchid?

    Hi there

    I'm new here (from South Africa), enjoy browsing through your webpage. Been orchid'ing for about 12 years now..

    I've got an orchid in my collection that I would love to identify, can anyone help me? The plant itself resembles a cymbidium (bulbs), but loses all the leaves during winter months.

    I have got a picure of the flower, please see attached...

    Maria, it's for sure not a Cymbidium. Take picture of the whole plants, also with out flowers.

    Many thanks, please find a picture of the plant - right now it's growing 2 new bulbs. The first time the plant went into this stage, I thought I killed it, but last year it flowered again. The leaves are very cymbidium-like, but I can see that it's definately not one..

    Ps. the photo of the flower was taken in October 2008 (spring) & it flowered again last year's spring. Flowers lasted something like 2 months.

    I bought it at a fare for VERY cheap, the guy there had a couple of them. It was planted in sand & nutshells, I repotted it this year into bark.

    Someone told me it's an EULOPHIA - I did some research & it seems as if they were right, but still not sure which one...

    The plant went through a rough time when we had a hailstorm, but hopefully she'll
    recover fully..

    It could be an Eulophia of South Africa I think?
