    Question cymbidium, leaf tips brown, tip die back

    Can one of you cym gurus clue me in to the major cause of leaf tip die back & browning? Thanks in advance.

    I'm no expert, but my guess would be low humidity.

    Salt build-up from fertilizer and/or hard water is a possibility. Could also be sunburn. Do you have photos?

    I agree with this, the only extra thing I could add is to the fertilizer/salt build up is that the plants have been getting to much fertilizer and not being watered enough to allow the plant to use the fert' or the residue be washed out of the mix.

    hey mine have the same problem, and i take no notice of it. I heard something about how salt buildup can clog the little breathing holes and this causes the cells in the leaves to die, thus forming the dead brown leaf tips. Even with these rather unsightly tips, my cymbs still flower profusly
