Zygopetalum backbulbs

Hello, I have a Zypopetalum with extra backbulbs. Can I grow them using the Cymbidium process (in a plastic bag next to my water heater until they sprout)?

I think it wouldn't hurt to try. Usually the back bulbs will not do much since they are mostly for supplying the new growth food and moisture. It would be a cool experiment to follow.

You can just pot them in a compot arrangement in your growing area. Depending how old the bulbs are is whether they shoot or not is another thing. You may find that if the growth eyes at the base of the bulb are gone or poor, they may shoot from the TOP of the bulb. This is not an unusual thing. Just keep the mix moist, never wet.
