    Default Suncoast Bird Sanctuary

    My dad came down for a visit and we took him to the bird sanctuary in Redington Beach (florida). It is an interesting place to visit. They say injured birds sometimes walk right up to to sanctuary when injured or just hungry. The funniest sight, was to see healthy birds walking around the enclosures trying to join the ones in the cages recuperating.

    Connie, what is the bird with the red patch on it's head in the third post? Is that a Sandhill?

    Some of the sandhills nest around here in the spring! I will have to send some orchids down with them this fall for you. LOL
