where i mount the orchids

since space was limited i mount them on tree trunk in our undevelop land. Using flexible plastic coated wire to tie them, now they had adapted and roots have started to cling onto it. I don't water them but leave all to mother nature. They receive natural night mist and rain.

bulbo beccari. I will untie once the roots are stronger, or i should wait till they are massive to be able to support the plant weight?

Haha, today i had a certain rush to take one of my slowest bulbo and tie to the fruit tree in the community garden. Do fill us in on the success of the plant.

I LOVE orchids on trees. Mine don't get much extra care and make out better than the spoiled brats in the lathe house.

How did yours fare with the cold temps?? Did any make it? I've wanted to do this but am afraid it gets too cold here.

The tree orchids did quite well with the cold, we had a couple of mornings the almost reached freezing. I only lost 1, the date palm is always wrapped with lights so I just kept them on all night. The ones out back were on their own and did fine.
