I am new to Portland, Oregon. I used to live in Oklahoma, and the climate there is all wrong for cymbidiums, thus I never had any success. However, Cymbidiums in full bloom were being sold everywhere you went this spring, so I thought hey maybe I'll give one a try again.
It needed desperately to be repotted, which I did when it finished blooming in a just slightly larger pot (they like to be a little rootbound, don't they?) in the Cymbidium ----. The night temps here are still pretty decent, so I've still got it outside.
At any rate, it has done great. I fertilized on a regular schedule all summer and made sure the plant got plenty of light, and the new growths are large and vigorous, however the leaves haven't even completely emerged and pseudobulbs don't appear to be developing yet. Should the growths not be mature by this point? Or am I being overly worried and they're right on schedule?
Can anybody tell me if I should be concerned about this at all, and if I should be concerned, what went wrong and is there anything I can do about it at this point?
