Bulbophyllum plumatum

I wasn't going to post this picture but while reading another Bulbo thread, I noticed a comment from Tom about B. plumatum. So this is for you Tom.... hope you get to see it. I had posted pictures last year. Well, the plant has added 7 or 8 new pseudo bulbs and is just entering its flowering season as you can see. Might just have to divide it this next spring.

I have had a seedling of Bulbophyllum plumatum var flava and it threw out a spike. When it was about 10 cm's long it started drying from the tip and died. I was wondering what I did wrong ...

Not sure, Lars. Where do you grow... maybe it's a humidity thing. Maybe how moist you keep your plants. The flower doesn't last very long. Mine lasted about a week to 10 days.

Very nice Howard. I still want to talk to Tom Mirenda because the Smithsonian collection has a beautiful clone I'd like a division from.

Jeff, if you don't mind me asking, what is different about this clone? Color, petal length, overall flower size???? Just curious..
