can we spray antifungal on active growing roots

hi everyone, i would need some advice here. i got a phalenopsis gigantea that is sending out a new leaf with 5-6 healthy roots but the fern slate that is mounted to keeps having this moldy silver green cotton like growth, sometimes it will stunt the growth of new roots adjacent to it.
can i spray antifungal (using dithane-30) to the entire plant? any tips on the dilution? the chart that is given there is in grams, dun have a mini scale or any scale at home.
the reason i am asking this is because the last time i sprayed my catasetums with antifungal, all the roots turn dormant and some even discolored to brown, luckily no serious casualty. any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

why not try sprinkling some cinnamon powder to the affected area. That's what i use first before resorting to chemicals.

Some orchids are going to be more sensitive than others. Can you treat the areas where the fungal infection is occurring and avoid the active growth? Good luck to you.

well, the problem is some of the moldy growth is just at the healthy green root tip. lost one root earlier, it just stop growing after that. but basically almost the entire fern slate is infected
as for cinnamon powder, didn't try it yet because i read from one of the thread in OTF that cinnamon powder had some root inhibition activity for the roots. (because someone suggested using long cinnamon stick as potting media cause it looks cool).
but anyway, i had already sprayed the antifungal shortly after posting the thread yesterday because the the mold is really freaking me out......i guess i panic. its rainy season now and the mold is spreading real fast, the worst i ever seen before since i came back from holiday yesterday. so i guess i acted out of panic

If the orchid were mine, and I had the problem, I would dip the orchid in a well mixed bath of nine parts water, one part bleach...leave in mix two to three minutes. Then I would take a look at the plant and access if I needed the mix to stay on or rinse it off. Just my opinion. I have found that this mix cures fungus/mold without hurting the plant. Actually, why don't you try it on ONE orchid, and see how it works...Betty :-)

I think Betty's suggestion is very good. I know of a serious orchid collector (not the commercial kind) who soaks all his jungle collected plants in a solution of household bleach before planting them out.

thank you very much Betty and Yew Sung, 9 water to 1 part of bleach. got it. thank you very much ...... you all have been great help. had always been wondering what is the safe dilution for bleach to be used in plants.

Well...It's been working for me for over 40 years now. Every once in a while I forget, then Andy reminds me about the bleach solution...easy, and it doesn't husrt the orchids. He ( Andy ) is the one who told me orginally to use the nine to one ratio. HAPPY YEAR, everyone!

FYI, in the medical field we say gram=milliliter. There are 5 milliliters in a teaspoon, 30 to an ounce Not that you're still needing the conversion, but in the future it may be helpful.
