I bought this plant for novelty sake but flowering it on a 2 bulb plant with a spike 300mm long and 5 flowers I've very happy with it. The largest bulb is pingpong ball size.
Flower size is 50mm approx'.

Beautiful colors and markings. I consider this to still be a good size flower and I like the idea of the longish spike. AL
I wonder where the Grammangis ellisii is in that hybrid. There does not appear to be any influence over the Grammatophyllum whatsoever.
When I see a hybrid like that I wonder why people bother to hybridise at all.

Jim, I can't see any ellisii either. The plant bulbs are nothing like the supposed parents either. I bought because it was something different. Regardless of the parentage, I like the flower & spike. It will be interesting to see what size it grows into with time. I'm wondering if its a form of Grammatophyllum hybrid ie without anything else ?
It is a gorgeous bloom, Roy.
Cheers,
