Default Cross Aranda prapin x Brassolaeliocattleya 'Rustic Spots'?

Can Aranda prapin be crossed with Brassolaeliocattleya 'Rustic Spots'? Both in bloom now. And which species name would it result into, and which abbreviation?

Aranda is a cross between Arachnis and Vanda. I seriously doubt that you could cross a Cattleya alliance plant with a Vanda alliance plant.

Thanks. I am also hearing, that monopodial species don't cross with sympodial ones. Bad luck for me. I will still give a try, but have no expectations.

Yes as Yew said, it is impossible. But sympodial, monopodial rule does not always hold true. Cattleyas can be crossed with Epidendrums which are sometimes monopodial.
