Trichocentrum carthagenense in bloom

Hi,

I posted in the intro that I had a spike on what turned out to be my mule ear which is mounted with other orchids on a branch. The blooms started opening yesterday and I tried to get some pictures. I'm not happy with the close ups, I can't take it down as it is too large and heavy. I may get a ladder and try again for a good closeup.





You can see the bloom stem coming out of the plant in this picture.



Here is the whole plant at the top of the branch.



It is the only orchid that blooms consistently for me so far, I'm hoping to do better with the others.

Thanks all. Resilient it is, I often forgot to water it in the first year. I'm better now and spray it at least every other day in the dry season and I've even spritzed it with weak miracle grow about once a month. I don't want to go overboard it might croak if I pay too much attention to it.

Thanks, I can really see why they are called tiny dancers. Actually, these look like really tiny cheerleaders to me, see the pom poms?
