    Default Dendrobium tobaense

I just realized I never posted any pics of this stunning species in this forum. The plant is blooming now but most of the photos are from last season.

    D. tobaense occurs in northern Sumatra in areas with high year-round rainfall.

The type specimen was collected northeast of Lake Toba at about 1500m. It has also been found on Mt. Dolok at 1000-1300m.

Plant size 25-30cm. The flowers are 7-8cm across. It is best grown mounted in high humidity and 14-25ºC. Growing conditions should be maintained all year!

Beautiful pictures as usual. Love this species but it doesn't like our hot lowlands.

Let me join the chorus of compliments and I say that these blooms are fantastic. I would praise in verse or song, but no one would want to listen. AL
