    Default Bulbo. flabellum-veneris

Quite a mouthful, that name.B. lepidum is sometimes considered synonymous and much easier on the tongue. Still, this is the proper name, so I show it and label as such.
Variable in colour from a darkish brown-red which is not as bright and attractive as this yellow form. In searching the web to try and check the name I came across pics of much better flowered plants, and learnt that it likes to be rather wetter than I keep it ; right, that's one plant to repot when I go back to the greenhouse later today .
Each daisy wheel is about 2 inches - 5cm in diameter. The plant last flowered in November 2010 with three flowers, and before that in 2009 with 1 flower , so it's going the right way .
A lot of things seem to be earlier this year from my strawberries to my orchids. I wonder if they will go back to the usual time next year ?

I think one sees more in a decent photo than in actually looking at it . maybe my camnera lens is better than my old eyes !

I know what you mean!! Maybe we take more time looking at the details in a picture. Or perhaps we are able to focus on just what is presented in the picture and not on other things surrounding the subject. But I do think I notice more details in some pictures, as well.
