Default My Living Breathing Orchid Mount

    Hi all,
I was sick of the hassle of my open fire so decided to have it boarded up and forgot about. Having done this it left a chimney breast being an eyesore so i went out got a surround and then decided to place a 110cm high Ginseng bonsai tree in the center of it with some mounted orchids. This is still a work in progress and upto now has three mounted species as shown in the picture. They are not in flower but the tree will hopefully look good when they are. The names of each one are underneath the photos. This was done on Saturday 6th aug 2011 since then i have installed a light unit underneath the fire surround and i am in the process of recessing some switched led's up the sides of the fire surround to allow light from all angles

Jason, that is awesome. Mounting on the bonsai plant is such a great idea. Well done!

Brilliant and so natural, those orchids are so tiny. I'm looking forward to seeing photos when they bloom. - martha

    Thank you Pavel and Amey,
It is serving its purpose very well and the pleasure from looking at it more than justifys any costs (and it will also allow me to sneak more orchids into the house without Emma catching me hehe)
