By the time I go away there are plants of various kinds on most surfaces of the house - ones brought in for photography, or cut flowers fromn the garden or whatever ; then we go away and I make a clean sweep - cut flowers to the compost, pretty well everything else back to the greenhouse, and then, back from holiday we start again.
Back 3 days or so, "the hall looks rather bare..." so I put together a couple of catts I have shown recently - Leafwood "Limelight" and that spotty cross which I have forgotten the name of, together with a Nelly Moser. I have a lot of Nelly Moser - that cheerful bright red goes anywhere, and there is nearly always one in flower somewhere , although a plant in a six inch pot has several spikes and unless they are all out at the same time it is not a show plant - but still useful in a little group with the rest of the plant hidden by ferns etc. I have several named clones of the grex - but see little difference between them ; I think this one is "Westland Wonder" which at present at least has flowers a bit bigger than most, maybe 11 or 12 cm north-south as compared to the 10cm of say "Lava Flow"..
By the way I slipped a black card behind the basket to make them show upo better for the piccy.
