    Default Howeara lava burst multiple blooms

    This Howeara has been a reliable constant bloomer for the past year and a half. It really likes the warm conditions in India and there has not been a single month when there have been no blooms on this plant. This month many spikes coordinated to some extent and the result is very beautiful.

    How pretty! Mine is under a shelf in the jungle area recovering from a severe debugging and as a result of bugs in hard to reach places it ended up in about four pieces. Needless to say it's sulking...glad to see your flowers and hoping mine will be blooming happily again soon.

    Lovely!!!! I have killed 2 already and looking for another. Too much water perhaps? I water all my orchids 2 times a day, the norm here.

    Connie, Yew I think what works best in such cases is 'benign neglect' as Betty puts it nicely. Don't fuss too much over these little hardy guys. Mine are growing over potted in a very wet mix of perlite and cocopeat, that gets watered everyday, so its always wet, once I thought about getting it out and re-potting it, but flying to Bremen so soo quick and unexpected that it got left out, and you know e´what the plant itself adjust, it grows its new growths progressively upwards away from the media, but the moisture loving roots go deep into it. It has optimised itself.
