Slc. Cloud's Love Angel

The seller who sent me this plant cut all their roots off to no more than 3/4". I have no idea why, but it was hard on the plants. They've all been recovering for the past nearly-a-year, and this one just bloomed:



It's Slc. Bright Angel x Lc. Fantasy Love. It had two blooms initially, but abandoned one as it was growing the spike. No fragrance, but mine looks much cuter than the seller's picture did, so I'm looking forward to helping it grow into a nice, healthy plant.

There's a Florida based vendor who is rather imfamous for sending plants like that or with completely desicated roots. Wonder if the seller you dealt with was trying to minimize their shipping expenses (which is a ploy some use so that the unused shipping charge becomes profit) or if the roots were that lousy.

I know who that is! Different person, though. I think this was just an individual selling divisions of several plants, not even a grower per se. The plants were in good shape right when they showed up, just with all their roots cut down to nothing, so I put it down to inexperience or pure boneheadedness.

If I purchased a plant that had no roots, (or very few/cut off ones ) I would NEVER buy from that seller again. AND, I would tell everyone who the seller was! It is a beautiful orchid, but I personally do not want to spend a whole year trying to get one plant to re-group! Just my opinion...Betty
