October is upon us and that means it is time to celebrate another special member of our community. It is with great pleasure I announce that Zainal (zainal abidin) is OrchidTalk's Member of the Month for October 2011. Thank you Zain for bringing so many new and different orchids to this community. Your photography and orchids always amaze us and you kind and gentle manner is so respectful and generous. We are all blessed to have you as a participating member of this community!
Zainal was nominated by several members this month and has appeared in the list of nominations almost every month since we started recognizing a member of the month. I feel this quote is representational of all the reasons given by the members here why Zainal should be October 2011's OrchidTalk Member of the month:
"I would like to nominate Zainal Abidin. His thread on Orchids in the Wild has given us greater insight into orchids in situ in Malaysia. His other posts too have been very informative.....".
(And with 70+ 'Likes' to that one thread and over 500+ to all his threads, it seems many members agree!!)
Thanks to everyone who participated this month!! And for those of you who were too late with your nominations, be sure to get them pm-ed to me before the last two days of the month!
And most especially, thank you, Zainal, for helping us achieve our mission here in this community: 'Bringing people together to grow orchids better'. Congratulations!

May I take this opportunity to be among the first to congratulate you, Zainal. You truly deserve this award. You have done our country proud by highlighting our native orchids growing in situ and also how beautiful our country is in your thread Orchids in the Wild. Love your interview and congrats for having a such a lovely family.
