I got it it a plants store, i was just curious with the plant since it was the first time a saw this kind.I got it that the buds closed and small. when i try to repot it i was surprise that all the roots are dead and rotted except for the two small once. i thought repoting it and the dead rots will blast the blooms.

That's a nice one. I have two mule-ear oncidiums. Now they're classified as Trichocentrum (Trt.) but they're still often refered to as oncidiums. They've been trouble free orchids for me. In my limited experience they seem to tolerate a fairly wide range of conditions. I grow them in a free draining cattleya type medium. As far as your experience with roots and flowers. Some orchids bloom very well when they're under stress. I think they're trying to reproduce before dying. I hope you can save that one. I think they're very nice orchids and not many people grow them anymore.

Yes i believe you're right with that, i seldom see orchids still blooming even they were dying. maybe i should treat it with rotting hormone to induce roots.
Also in all of my trips to different market, this is the first time time i see this kind of orchids that's why i bought it, but not knowing it's true conditions.
Maybe next time i will be more inspecting the plants before buying.

Jeff since there no root my recommendation better cut the spike no doubt very pretty,its consumed energy a lots so my worry you will lost the plant soon, put it in area relatively cool to encourage root formation.

Thanks Zainal, Thats what im thinking too, so that the plant will focus on growing process. will cut it tomorrow and give it to my grandma. :-)

Thanks Betty,i have this for a month now . upon my research for this kind of orchid i position it to a place where it can receive full sun just like catt and vanda and no sunburn has been seen. maybe because of its large fleshy leaves.

I have an orchid just like that and it hates the sun. My first mule orchid was bought when i was in college. It never liked the sun cause it gets burn easliy. So be very careful with it.
