Cattleya root tip die-back

I have one bifoliate cattleya. It is Lc Gold Digger. Does anyone growing this find it to be particularly sensitive to salts? I am giving it the same care as my other Catt types and the root tips are dying off. ALL of them. I thought it could be humidity, but I checked the roots down in the media and they are doing the same. None of my other plants are doing this...I thought I would give it a soak in RO water to be safe. It's not rot due to over watering,so I'm not worried about that. Any thoughts?

Have observed a few cases like this aswell sometimes recurring. It seems that a healthy sign of a cluster of roots above pot/ media reach a certain length 0.5" to 1" then brown tips and die off. Two answers I recieved 1-not enough humidity and 2- fert too strong with miracle grow type blue ferts being possibilities also. My humidity 60 - 70 % and use specialist orchid fert with low nutrient content npk. Plus media gets flushed out.A mystery and a pain>..........bump! any other theories/ opinions out there?

It is a very strange problem isn't it? I have species catts and bulbos that aren't doing this at all. I would expect them to be troubled the most by my conditions. Surely, it isn't underwatering?
