Default Angraecum sesquipedale - double bloom?

This is a shot of Bigfoot's sesquipedale - one of two spikes. I was wondering whether the swelling mid-way on the spike is going to be another bloom. Does anyone know? Also, about how long will it be before this bloom really gets going?

Yes, I think this could be a 2nd bud. The terminal bud opens first and it grows faster.
How long ? More than one month, maybe 2. Mine is almost like yours and I think it will bloom in late January / early february, but the weather is better for you.

Oh boy - I have to keep it alive that long? Yipes. I don't have a greenhouse - just a southern exposure sliding glass door, a humidifier, a fan, and my trusty little spray bottle. It's in a 4" pot that it's bursting out of (No - I'm not touching it, or the roots!) and doesn't retain moisture too long. Any tips on watering, fertilizing, misting, etc.?

BTW - It has 2 spikes like this - 4 blooms???? I'll be in heaven!

I think it's all the "nurture" energy going on in your house!

Never grown one myself but as Eric mentioned -- you got a while to wait. You've seen how large the flowers are, yes? And considering most orchids seem to take their sweet time fattening a bud up, you can bet this little bud is going to be quite a while growing.

I can understand that and not like it at the same time, right?

Maura, as an example, from the buds (photo) to the full bloom in 2010 : more than 15 days. It's a long time, very long time ... As Pavel said, it's a huge flower.

You seems to do well, don't change anything.
Now, I water mine once a week and sometimes spray the aerial roots. But the plant is in the GH with high humidity level and good ventilation. I use a MSU type fertilizer 3 waterings on 4.
