    Cool Vanda Paki

This is a cross of V. cristata 'Hydra' FCC/AOS x V. tricolor 'Grand Master Doug'. I had to look up where I bought this plant so I could have the cross info for my tag (since the tag went missing and i'd thought it was a gift...). And to my suprise my flowers look nothing like what i'd expected. I ordered expecting white flowers spotted with a red lip. The person I bought from had redone the original cross themselves and so I benefit with an unusual looking flower. For perspective on size...the basket is 4 inches, the plant has a leaf span of roughly 15 inches and the first flower to open is 2 1/4 inches across.

Connie, Yours is the typical looking bloom. While not typical for a vanda it is spot-on for Paki. The white looking clone you saw is a pretty rare one to get a hold of. But it is a beautiful plant. Go back and look at the one I posted we have triplets...you, me and Naoki!

Ah...well then maybe I need to buy a couple more and see if I can get a white one. If they bloom pretty regular I won't mind having an extra plant or two.
