Default bug in apex next to bud

I noticed a bud on my Epc. Netrasiri Fine Green this morning. It came up without a sheath. This is probably my 3rd no sheath Catt...I thought that was highly unusual??

Anyway, it looks like there is only 1 bud there as far as I could tell but it was on death's door about 18 months ago. Inside the apex of the leaf right next to the bud is a dead bug...looks spiderish but I can't tell. I guess I should just remove it with tweezers?? Can't tell if it did any damage.

Yeah I would remove with either twezers or forceps or chopsticks.

It was alive. I almost jumped out of my skin.

Ugh! always a shock when they move. I've had an Epc that bloomed without a sheath too. I thought I just missed the sheath and that it shed the sheath very quickly....
