    Cool Dendrobium n.o.i.d. 'Shooting Star'

I'm giving my no name plants nicknames so I can i.d. them later. This flower is just amazing to me. I don't recall ever seeing a dendrobium with this large of flowers. The first to open all the way is over 4 inches tall, 3 inches wide. The shape of the lip side lobes as well as their size is really different as well. I would love to know what this thing is, I believe I bought it without tag due to the strange large flowers a year or so ago.

Connie, I wouldn't be surprised if were an intersectional hybrid (phalaenanthe x latourea). Compare it to Den. Peter Shen.

Found a couple versions of the Den Peter Shen and I can see what you mean. The shape is very similar. The thing with this one is the size of the flowers. I was suprised when I sat it next to a compact Cattleya and the flower on the dendrobium was larger. lol
