    Cool Christensonia vietnamica

I may have already said it a dozen times, but i'll say it again; those tiny vanda types just seem to like it here! Here is something I found so pretty I accidentally bought two of them in the last six months. Only was was previously bloomed and it is plant #2! (you can see the dried spike in pic 3) lol I had to post them together in spite of the smaller plant just starting to spike. I cannot get over how small these spike. I should do a follow up with the shelf they sit on so you can see how large they are in comparison to a standard vanda and an ascocenda. lol Even plant #1 is small by vanda standards.

The heat has me losing a flower bud here and there...but it's been blistering. Today's heat index is 116F or 46 1/2C!! So I'll be going back outside to mist shortly...again.

Yes, the humidity isn't as bad, but the heat is still awful. I'm lucky we live close to the coast as it gives us a great breeze usually. Today I went out three times to mist it got so still and hot.

I live close to the east coast and the breeze helps me too.Last summer my barometer(sp) was always around 60 to 80 for humidity this year 40 to 50.

Oh, that is nice!! Cute orchid. Wonder how long it will take for the smaller plant to bloom?

    cheers,
