Default 9 spike Sharry Baby question.

So the first of the buds are "sprouting". Here in Houston the temps are in the mid to upper 90's. I want to bring it inside so the flowers can last longer. Should I wait until the flowers open to do this or should I bring it in now that the flowers are now starting to form? Oh and one other thing, how do I get the bugs out of the media before I bring it in?

    Thanks,
    Miller

NO NO NO! Wait for them to open first, otherwise you risk terminating the whole lot with any possible temperature changes. I have experienced termination with things like rapid temp changes, sudden changes in watering frequency and even sudden changes in sunlight hours haha....that'll teach me for taking my budding Coelogynes into the garage one night last year, when a heavy as feck frost was predicted...turned out, it snowed!

Nine spikes? Congratulations!! Mine only gave me two this summer. They were super big, heavily laden with flowers (so I can't complain!), but only two.

Yea, I am very excited. When i grew it inside I would only get two or so spikes, since I put it outside it is growing like crazy!

Yep same plants same spikes, I took the least advanced photo back in May. It does seem to be taking longer than I remember when It would spike in the past. The flowers at the base of the spike are starting to emerge so hopefully not much longer.
