Blooming a couple of months earlier this year. I've had the worst issue with thrips this past couple of weeks. I lost a flower on this plant and a couple of spikes on others.

Love the two tone colors on this one, what a beautiful bloom. Sorry to hear about the thrips problem so far I have managed to control mine but I do not have as many plants as you do.
Beny, the thrip problem is mine own doing. I haven't been home much to keep up with spraying them weekly. This is a tough time as the humidity levels drop this time of the year. While the humidity doesn't keep them away it does help a little. When the air is drier they come out in full force.

Impressive...Cathy dont forget to spray regularly insecticide may this slowly eradicate the trips.
Sorry about the thirps! Beautiful vanda blooms though!
cheers,

Sanderiana is such a classic beauty. Awesome.
Just simply stunning.
Since they tend to get LARGE, I am reluctant to get them.
Naoki, they are slow growing. You will be ok!
I was of the opinion that they were slow growing also, as was a plant I had years ago. The flower was something only its mother would love unfortunately, close to a natural species plant I think. I bought a smallish seedling last year of top Thai nursery line bred clones, 'T Orchids x Dr Bunphot', it grows as well as if not better than some of my old faithfuls.
I have two of these and they are both slow going compared to my other species here in Florida. The one I posted is many years old and still maybe about 25 to 30 inches tall. The roots are very thick some the size of my index finger. I will say they both have beautiful straps compared to other vanda types in my opinion.
