OSO Annual Auction

Just wanted to let everyone know that the Orchid Society of the Ozarks will be holding its annual auction in just ten days, Sunday Sept 25, starting at 1:00 PM.

Yep, Gin's right (she usually is! hehe)...you did have the best looking plants there AND it was great seeing you both again!

Bruce did a great job keeping the auctioneers going, too. And Louis did his part keeping the bidding going. How many did you end up with??? lol

It was so nice to see you both (Maggie & Gin)! Thanks for the compliments on the RVO plants we took to the auction. This really means a lot to us considering all the other larger companies that donated to the society's auction.

Gin - thanks for all the gifts you brought for us too! Louis's favorite gift, the stinky , opened up with another bloom yesterday. There were freaking flies everywhere. I took a photo (because I was so grossed out - I figured no one would believe me) of the fully open bloom. That sucker is huge! AND, and if LJA even thinks about bringing that thing into the house, he will be in the dog house! He can take it to the green-house or barn, but not inside. Could you imagine all those flies being drawn into the house? YIKES!

What is odd about it there is a fake fly in the center of it to draw in others , It never does pollinate, no seeds . Once it is done blooming it can go in the green house no stink then . I had it bloom in the green house did not see the flower , I tore the green house up looking for a dead mouse before finding the (gag)bloom . It is probably done for the year ... Gin
