New grower, What is this

Ah! I couldn't tell for sure from the first pic, but that's a seed pod. In other words, orchid fruit!

Orchid seed, however, is like a fine dust, and will not produce seedlings easily . . . and the fruit takes many months to mature. I'd recommend cutting it off – it'll drain energy from the plant.
