Lemboglossum cordatum

got this only a few months ago. it came potted in a 4" clay pot with sphagnum moss. i keep it damp. it started a spike soon after arrival. a few buds got a bit pinched in their bracts, but not a bad first flowering. 8 flowers. this will stay outside next winter. real small plant, pot and all, just under a foot tall. flowers are just over 2 and a half inches wide. slight honey sweet scent in strong light. a bit more delicate in substance than i thought it would be, the spike sways in the slightest breeze.

we have a similar odontoglossum called Dennis kasenbach " Crowhurst " 1 st prise winner . we often smell the fragrance and later find hiding from sight . we live in Cetral Queensland Aust. long way from Los Angeles best advice 4 u do not devide plant repot in larger pot when required best in spring life is beautifull in the world of orchids cheers from Australia
