mounted the L. Bicolor *Gambling*

so I took a gamble.... mounting my new orchid while its in BUD *eeek*

I very very GENTLY removed it from its small pot, and left 99% of the bark attached/tangled in the roots....then stuck it in the wood like depression on my mount. putting a bit of Moss around the outside. wrapped it carefully with 1 floral wire through the center of the plant, then securing it off with 2 small pantie-hose. I think it looks really nice, just a tad nervous about it being in Bud. well there it is;

I'm guessing it will do fine. I totally ripped a wood basket apart last week, cut off a ton of roots and then cut a big section to share that had a bud developing. It survived all that as well as the boxed trip to Ohio. I'm guessing your tender treatment will allow the bud to continue on...

I wish I could find I nice piece of wood like that. I have some random Dens I mounted on a stump of an Oak tree. They are finally sending out roots and new growth, I plan on placing it on my coffee table this fall winter as a centerpiece. I would love to have your wood piece!

Miller, if you look in pet stores, they sometimes have really great mounts that suppose to be for reptiles.

I actually have snakes but my new orchid addiction has taken all of my attention. I will make it to the next reptile swap to see what I can find.
