Miltoniopsis, possible spike?

I don't have much success with this genus. I think it's too hot for them here in Barcelona. Any way, I repotted this one as soon as it was done flowering in a clay pot to see if the evaporative cooling would lower the temperature in the root zone. I've noticed something growing between the bulb and the outer leaf and it looks different from the new growth that's also growing. Do you think it could be a spike?

Definitely looks like a spike to me.

To me it does look like a spike as well, but the plant is so dehydrated and the spike is coming from a bulb that has already bloomed once (on the other side). Is this possible? Can a Miltoniopsis bloom more than once from the same bulb?

Not sure about spiking twice from the same pseudo bulb , 2 @ the same time sure , maybe is a new growth , will have to be patient unfortunately.

There's no other choice as being patient.

I think it is new growth. All of my Miltons are growing new growth--a welcome sign for next Spring's blooms!

Mine is growing a new growth as well, and it looks completely different from this, so I'll just continue hoping it's a spike.
