    Quite interesting ... the flower looks more like a Pleurothallid or the genus in which only a couple little openings on the sides of the flower/flower bud appear (can't remember the name for the life of me ....) than what I'd expect of a bulbo.

    flower is about 1cm on a 2" spike.

    You are referring to the genus Zootrophion. Bulbos vary immensely in form, shape and size.
