As many of you may know, I am new to growing orchids but have jumped in with both feet.
I bought this Alcra Pacific Nova 'Okika' from my grocery store. This is one of the orchids that started me on my 'disease'. And I think it is doing quite well. And as with the paph Liemianum, I find the growth process new and interesting to behold.
Since I have had it, the blooming cycle ended after a month or more of having the flowers in my living room. Then after getting my grow area set up, it has been repotted out of spagh and into bark mix and grown quite quickly since. It has this new growth which I assume will be a pseudo bulb (pb). It has emerged enough to be starting to have the center open up and grow new leaves? There are about 4 new roots growing from the new pb too.
My other oncidium types, also from the grocery and were part of the spark, are also in the same boat. Flowered, repotted and new growth. Not as big or fast, but one has 5 new pb's growing.
A few pics of the big new, pb!
