Vanda, Oncidium and Cymbidium.

Hello,

This is a mixture of genera so I hope it is the correct place to post.

Vanda Royal Blue. I have really wanted to acquire this beautiful hybrid for a long time. My brother was really kind and gave this lovely specimen to me for my birthday on 1st Feb. It blooms are all out now, and it is magnificent.

My parent's ancient and massive Cymbidium. I have been looking after it over the past year and this is the first time that it has re-flowered in about 20 years! It has elegant and beautiful flowers!

Oncidium alexandrae. I acquired this orchid last year, and it is still in bloom. The flowers pictured here are from a branching spike that grew from the main inflorescence, and the flowers on this are much better formed. Therefore the plant seems to have acclimatised to the slightly warmer conditions than it is probably used to. It is in a relatively cool room anyway..However I have to compromise as there are warm loving orchids in here too.

Very nice Kate! Congratulations on bringing your parent's Cym to bloom! The Vanda is a wonderful color of blue! I see you have already done it's portrait! Nice!

Thank you very much for your kind words. The painting visible is of Vanda Blue Magic but ironically it probably does look more like V. Royal Blue as I used blues with very high tinting power! I plan to paint Royal Blue at some point.
