How many of you have at least one thriving Bulbophyllum in your collection?

I a NOT a Bulbo grower..the 1st (& only) one I got, died in record time. I've been too chicken to get another one. HOW MANY OF YOU OUT THERE HAVE ANY BULBO'S IN YOUR COLLECTION? This is just sort of an informal survey. (I'm trying to get my confidence up to buy another one and try it.). HOW DO THEY COMPARE IN DIFFICULTY OF GROWING TO OTHER ORCHIDS YOU HAVE? Fill in the blank: BULBOPHYLLUMS ARE GROWN SIMILARLY TO ______. I realize it's difficult to generalize but in terms of cultural requirements, just pick another genius of orchids that are close in their requirements to Bulbos. MANY THANKS!

I am awaiting delivery of my first bulbo. I bought bulbo frostii. So I can't completely answer the question. It will go into an orchidarium, so I expect it to thrive.

I always share my orchid images. It is part of the fun of growing. Sharing successes and failures! And I have only been growing orchids for a year. But lots of other plant growing experience is behind me. I used to grow bonsai.

I've grown bulbos mostly in baskets or mounted. The ones in wooden baskets seem to do the best for us.

Bulbophyllums thrives in most of the tropical country for those growing in highlands definitely very difficult in lowland. I have many bulbos in my collection the best mounted either to the tree , fern roots and baskets too. Most important you must know from where the species come from.I really enjoyed growing them as they are really very very beautiful ,colorful, unique and the worst having bad smell most of them and some emitted sweet scents. They love the high light, water too including organic and inorganic fertilizers.Here few examples of my bulbos.

I have a few. mostly mounted. I treat them similar to mounted dendrobiums.

I know what you mean! Most of the bulbo's I had didn't survive. I figured out it had mich to do with the low RV in my house so I have another strategy now: I only grow the very small species and put them in a slightly bigger pot to keep the RV higher around the plants. It is working, just a but. They do grow but won't flower, so I'll take this Bulbo-thing to the next level soon!

I only own one: Bulbophyllum pardalotum x self. I bought it end of June 2014. It is mounted on tree fern plaque. It was beginning to be dehydrated so I wrapped some NZ sphagnum moss around the roots. It has bloomed twice and it is now set to bloom again. Mine came from a vendor in Hawaii. It was described as easy to grow.
