Cool Blc. Hileahi Fossil 'Tahitian' X Enc. belizensis

This is a lovely plant and now that it's been repotted it's taking off. The flowers are much larger due to the cattleya influence, but the Belizensis is dominant and it looks like a giant Encyclia flower.

I have this website to thank for the lovely collection, because without the members helping me figure things out I'd have given up a very long time ago. I also am spoiled and as you pointed out very lucky to enjoy such beautiful flowers. I hope someday soon you will have the biggest most beautiful orchid blooming just for you.

Beautiful! I am getting more into the Blc. orchids as the mix of species makes for some unusual flowers.

Almost every orchid I own has a burn mark on it's leaves...some are worse than others. As the spot dries out and ages it will look like that unless I cut the bad part of the leaf off. Most plants are cleaned up and things like that cut off before a plant is shown. I have not went through and "prettied" mine up in awhile. The big Maikai plant had at least two dozen leaf tips to cut off to make it's picture look decent. It is one of the plants I put at the front of my shelves to give shade to the others and so it can get looking pretty bad.
