Question Catasetum growing Bulb/spike at the same time??

So I currently have 2 catasetum that have both a new growth growing, both started off with a very similar shape and now one of them is looking a lot like a spike, however it does have some roots that are growing under this " weird looking bulb" and they are growing much slower than the other catasetum. The Catasetum that is growing a normal looking bulb is a catasetum integerrimum and the weird looking bulb is a Catasetum Incurvum. Is it possible for it to be growing a bulb with a spike? or is it just a really weird looking bulb :P?

I'm guessing the latter. Just a weird looking bulb.

I don't think even catasetums are that strange to grow roots from a spike.

My Clowesia Rebecca Northen grew roots from its spikes. Those last photos look like spikes to me.

I've had some in this family grow roots from spikes. Just one of those oddities that orchids sometimes produce.

BTW - I've never had one progress to a new growth...once done blooming they dried up like other spikes.

first pic is a new growth,,
the second pic is a SPIKE

yes..some of the spike produces own roots, not uncommon.

and sometimes......you might even get a partial developed bulb on the bottom half of the spike.

and yes, it is possible for a catasetum to produce growth and spike at the same time, i had one expansum that is doing so right now.

i guess....all i could say is WELCOME TO THE WEIRD WORLD OF CATASETUMS

CONGRATS on both the growth and spike !!

I was thinking here, Should I start to water both of them once the roots reach a certain size? If you could give me some tips for them about food and light, They are currently at the window just getting some sun that comes in through the glass but not much. And I haven't given them any water or fertilizer.
I live in Miami, so its hot and humid outside right now.

Quick question, When should I start watering these two guys? I read that when the roots reach about 3-4 inches. I don't know much about catasetum, and what I read online isn't very consistent. What do you think I should do about feeding and lighting? can the new bulb be having normal non-direct sunlight already? They are both by the window right now but not getting too much light. I live in Miami so outside right now is really hot and humid
