Catasetum culture

I struggle with this whole group. Maybe, probably , I grow too cool for them. So far I have no new growths showing among the fifty or so ( more hybrids than species) which I have. My night temperature now iis 11-12 C. In previous years it was set a few. Degrees higher. Maybe that is making the difference - but it also halves the cost ! And day temperatures occasionally go up to high 20s when it us sunny all day.
The guy (Andy ?) from that Korean nursery which specialises in breeding all the amazing hybrids in this group told me, when I talked to him at the World Orchid Conf' last year that they would be quite happy at my temperatures in the winter, and only need the heat when they start growing, but they just don't seem to want to start this year.
Am thinking of putting them on a heated pad, mabe with a polythene tent round, to give them a few extra degrees boost to start them off.
Any Cataseum growers out here give me advice ?

temperature increase in form of heated pad and extra humidity would certainly help them wake-up.

I started on this just last year on Catasetum genus and There are a recorded webinars in AOS by fred clarke and gave some very good insight into growing them and have been following this spring.

i grow mine in a hot and humid climate all year round. temp ranges from 24 to 33 plus minus.

ctsm although are warm growers but they do tolerate cooler climate. but if my memory serves me correctly, they prefer temp 14 Celsius and higher as the lower range.
they can stay dormant for months, depending on type of the species.

ctsm that are grown in area with seasonal climate will sprout almost simultaneously when the condition is favorable for growth.
as a start, perhaps to set the temp to 16 Celsius if your weather now is with enough light hours now

I live in Ventura, CA and have some Catasetinae hybrids ---- Vendor information removed - see FAQs on Posting ----. I grow inside and my temp goes down to 63F. Of the 5 plants I have now, three are showing new growth w/roots, and two are not. The plants that have new growth are doing well ---- Vendor information removed - see FAQs on Posting ----
