Fertilizer and Orchids food

Confused please help !
does anyone have a favorite fertilizer and what is best?
what is the difference between fertilizer and orchids food?

Every region and country has its own favorite. fertilizer is not orchid food. in short, fertilizer is what take-up from their roots and leaf. Using sun light and what absorb they make their own food. you can choose from a range of inorganic fertilizers to organic (humic acid, seaweed extract, compost tea,fish emulsion)

Whichever fertilizer you choose, it always seems to work best to fertilize weakly every week instead of one big feeding once a month or every two weeks.

I always combine between inorganic and organic the outcome is fantastic for time being just do your experiment slowly the experience/ time will tell you which way you are going to follow.

Mine is Campbells B developed by an Australian, Colin Campbell. It is produced by his family company. He was a contributor to an ABC show here in Australia called Gardening Australia. I wont use anything else now as my major fertilser. I've gone through full season using it now with fantastic results. I have no idea if they export it but it may be worth your while to check

"Orchid food" is just a marketing name for fertilizer, but some formulas are made specifically for orchids (Greencare "Michigan State University" and K-Lite formulas), while others are just relabeled for that.

In reality, the formula isn't really all that critical, as most orchids have very low nutrient demands, and paraphrasing Diane's excellent advice, "less is more". Frequent, low-concentration feeding is better for the plants than heavy doses.
