    Smile Aliceara Pacific Nova 'Okika'

    One of the orchids that ignited my passion. It got horribly sunburned this summer and the new growths will be divided from the burnt part as soon as the next new growth starts and this blooming is completed. It has also been getting Physan treated for spotting.

    Very nice. I would not remove Sun burnt pseudobulbs and would be to leave it as is unless it is being put for a display or award. any specific reasons you are planning to remove it?

    The affected pbs are not looking like they provide anything to the orchid and are soft and mushy. and the rest of the orchid on that side has the remnants of the spotting I am hoping to get away from.
    You can see how bad the 2 pbs are and the new one in the back that is not burnt.

    I would cut that out, it happens a lot to mine in all the rain we get this is one species that I have always had problems with so I don't own that many.

    The blooming cycle was ending and I couldn't wait to cut this guy up so this is what's left. I decided to discard the sunburned portion.
